What does the merge button do on an address summary?
You can merge a property or organisation (the source) to another property or organisation (the target). Note that a property can be merged with an organisation, and vice versa. In-area and out-of-area properties and organisations can be merged.
ASSURE automatically moves information and references from the source to the target when there are no potential conflicts. For example, any worksheets that refer to the source will move to the target. Also any attached documents. If any persons in the Contact directory show the source as their address, they are moved to the target address. However, where there are actual or potential conflicts you must choose what to keep.
ASSURE deletes the source property or organisation after the merge.
What does the move button do on an address summary?
You can move an organisation from one property to another in the ASSURE gazetteer.
Neither the organisation to be moved nor the target property can be out-of-area (OA), but the target property does not have to be open currently. If the organisation is currently closed, it is automatically reopened at the target property. If the source property is left with no organisations, it can be deleted.
What does the link button do on an address summary?
Link records to a different property or organisation
Worksheets, current pictures, and any other records that currently reference a property or organisation can be re-linked to another property or organisation. The linked records are updated accordingly.
- Find and open the property or organisation.
- In the Details For {Address} screen, click the Summary tab.
- Click Manage and then Link.
The Link Records screen appears, listing the linked records. These may include records that are not yet configurable in ASSURE. Those that are configurable can be opened for review by clicking their linked Reference numbers.
- Click Find Address to select the target property or organisation.
Click Remove address to remove a property or organisation added in error.
- Tick the Select checkboxes of the records you want to link to the target premises.
- Click Continue.
ASSURE attempts to update the selected records.
Records that are successfully updated are removed from the Link Records screen. If any records cannot be updated, the Status column can identify the reason for the failure.
