Upgrade to 25.1
The TEST ASSURE Public Protection environment will be upgraded to version 25.1 on Friday 7th March
PP Enhanced Functionality:
2.1 Standard reports
A Table Key option is added to the standard Audit Report which searches the primary
key of an audited record. Typically, it will be used in conjunction with the Table Name
option, although it need not be. This is useful if you want to audit a specific record, for
example a Person record, across all transactions irrespective of the context in which
each occurred.
2.3 Exporting and importing document templates
With this release, a utility is available to import and export NEC Communications Suite
(NCS) and TMT/Word templates between environments, subject to the following
conditions:
• NCS templates must all held be in .docx format.
• Where a template references a global merge field that field must already exist in
the target environment.
• Where a template has authorising users those user accounts must already exist,
with the same email addresses, in the target environment.
• If a template includes email attachments, those attachments cannot be exported.
Contact your NEC Software Solutions representative for details.
2.4 Disallowed file formats
The list of disallowed file formats for attachments to worksheets and emails is updated to
include .js, .py, .pyc, .pyd, .pyo, .html, .htm, .rb, .sh, .php, and .sql.
8.1.1 CIPFA reports
With this release the following Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy
reports are available:
• Pest Control Analysis
This standard report examines Pest Control worksheets received during the report
period, and counts the number of initial visits and revisits (although all visits are
reported).
8.2 Jaspersoft reporting domains
With this release the following new Jaspersoft domains are available for ad hoc reporting
and queries. The intention is to provide access to all the information a user might need
to report on the worksheets or records concerned:
• PP Accidents Worksheet Management
• PP Antisocial Behaviour
• PP Enquiries
• PP Environmental Permits Current Picture
• PP Grants and Loans Worksheet Management
• PP Infectious Disease Worksheets
• PP Notices
• PP Properties and Organisations
• PP Prosecutions
• PP PSH Inspections
• PP PWS Visits
Similar domains were introduced in previous releases:
• PP Food Business
• PP Licensing Worksheet Management
• PP Worksheet Management
10.1 Register a Food Business API v4
With this release, ASSURE supports version 4 of the Register a Food Business
(RaFB) application programming interface (API). These changes do not apply to
Scotland.
Where necessary, new document production and reporting fields are provided as
standard.
10.1.1.1 Applicant and Food Business tabs
When identifying the applicant(s), the food business operator, or an officer of a limited
company, the user has the option of providing that person's date of birth.
10.1.1.2 Enhanced Registration tab
Three new sections are added which give the user an opportunity to:
• Under Business Scales, answer the question: Who do you intend to provide
food for?
For Northern Ireland businesses, Export applies only to movements outside the
UK or EU. FBO means other food businesses. Senior Youth means people over 65
or under 5 years old.
• Under Food Types Handled, answer the question: What type of food do you
intend to handle?
For Northern Ireland businesses, Imported applies only to movements from GB or
outside the EU
• Under Processing Activities, answer the question: What food processing
activities do you intend to carry out in your food business?
Animal Uncooked applies to products like steak tartare, ceviche, and carpaccio.
The choices in each section are defined by three new code types:
• Business Scale
• Food Type Handled
• Processing Activities
Note: Because of these changes, the existing Import/Export Activity and Customer Type fields are effectively redundant, but are retained for compatibility with the previous API version
10.1.2 Food Business current pictures
The Food Business current picture is updated to show these changes but, as usual for current pictures, the fields are uneditable.
10.1.3 FSA Food Registration Import schedule
The 'Get' URL and 'Put' URL parameters of the FSA Food Registration Import schedule
accept these updated URLs:
https://fsa-rof-gateway.azureapi.net/registrations/v4/{lc}?fields={fields}&after={after}&before={before}&new={new}
12.1.1 Licensing: DEFRA Animal Activity Licences and Fees report
This standard report examines Licence current pictures and associated Licence
worksheets for licences relating to the following animal activities:
• Dog boarding (kennels)
• Home boarding of dogs
• Dog day care
• Dog breeding
• Cat boarding
• Selling animals as pets
• Hiring out horses
• Keeping or training animals for exhibition
The licences must be in force during at least part of the report period.
This report identifies the number of licences in force during, and up to 1 April
immediately following, the report period. Suspended licences may be excluded (or not).
The report also shows total and average fees for both new applications and renewals.
Note: The related Licensing: DEFRA Animal Activity Licences and Welfare Standards report was
introduced in ASSURE 24.1.1.0
13.1 PWS Details records
Additional fields are added to PWS Details records to capture more information required
by the Drinking Water Inspectorate's latest returns.
13.2.1 Test / Results tab
A Sampler Certification field is added to the Test / Results Details dialog to record
how the sampler is certified:
• Set to Yes if individually certified under ISO 17024 General requirements for bodies
operating certification of persons, typically by CATG.
• Set to No if covered by their organisation's accreditation under ISO 17025 General
requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.
Corresponding document merge and reporting fields are defined as usual
13.3 Standard reports
Two standard reports are updated to take advantage of the new fields described above:
• PWS DWI Details
• PWS DWI Data
The significant changes are summarised below.
13.3.1 PWS DWI Details
This column is added:
• Risk Assessed for PFAS
These columns use existing fields but are populated differently to meet the DWI's current
requirements:
• Risk Assessment
• Regulation 18 (or Reg 20 Wales) Notices
• Regulation 18 (or Reg 20 Wales) Notice Revocations
• Section 80 Notices
These columns are removed:
• Notice Appeals
• Consumer Complaints
• Treatments
13.3.2 PWS DWI Data
This column is added:
• Sampler Certification
This column is removed (replaced by the one above):
• CustFitFlag
Note: Although the LA Reference option to this report is shown as mandatory, it is not actually used and will be removed in a future release
Other
Verification issue – Degradation in 24.1.1 meant every attachment needed verifying when trying to close a worksheet. This is reverted back to original functionality in this release where verification is only mandatory upon issue of a licence.

322631 |
Sometimes, when editing a PWS Details record, ASSURE is unable to display an Outlet Map that shows the source and its outlets. Note: NEC Software Solutions have determined that this occurs when an outlet has been plotted very far away from its source. A workaround has been introduced to display the interactive map instead of a map image. However, this means that a map image will not be available for document production and reporting. This outstanding issue will be addressed in a future release |
337407 |
Paragraph formatting does not work as expected on the Before you start and Declaration tabs of, for example, the System Administration - Licence Setup screen. |

In the FSA FHRS report, the wrong Date of Request (reinspectionrequested) is being displayed even if the worksheet that requested the re-inspection is directly linked to the Food Business current picture. |
356187 |
Duplicate documents with an unrecognised document type of "Assure" discovered in NEC DM. |

Although not specified as fixed in this release, the following bugs are to be addressed by more logs and error handling code being added to 25.1 for further investigation.
ADO-347568/ADO-372238 – Mandatory fields missing on customer submission/error logs on submission/payment taken but application fails
