In this article you will find some helpful tips and tricks on how to use templates in ASSURE.
Document Queue: If you're a new ASSURE user and you can't open a letter created in the document queue
- Have you got pop ups blocked? Certain browsers will block pop ups for security reasons, in ASSURE we need to make sure they are not blocked in order to use the functionality. To do this go into your browser settings, search by pop ups and make sure they are not blocked, to be safe you can click 'Add' and then insert the following link to ensure this doesn't happen again. https://publicprotection.colchester.gov.uk/Northgate/ES/Presentation/
DP Error: If your letter is going to DP Error in the document queue there are a few things you can do before raising a fresh service ticket
- Have you tested a blank template on your worksheet? It could be that there is an issue with the worksheet itself and not the actual letter you are trying to create, another way of testing this is to create the letter you want to use from a different worksheet and see if this doesn't error. These are the first things you should do before raising a fresh service ticket as it helps the system team figure out where the issue is originating from. (Include this information if you do raise a ticket)
Editing & making any changes: If you are editing a template in DP - Letter Templates
- Always wait for the blue banner to pop up on the letter template details page after editing or making any changes in the NCS Editor to confirm that the changes have been made and saved, If you don't wait for this banner then your template changes will not be properly saved until 20 minuets has passed and any letters created in this time will still have the original formatting.
Stuck on what you're doing and need some guidance?
- ASSURE Online Help is a great tool that can provide support with whatever you're doing, simply click support - online help and it will direct you to a page that is specific to whatever you're looking at. For example if you're in DP - Letter templates it will take you to a support page full of information on that tab.
Deleting a template: If you are trying to remove an NCS template and getting an error
- To remove a template from ASSURE you need to be a system admin user and you can follow the steps in the solution 'Deleting NCS Templates' but if you get an error whilst doing this there could be a few things you haven't done, if you still have certain settings ticked in the template set up such as applicant template or sub tab category's ASSURE will not allow you to remove this as it thinks it is still in use. To ensure you don't get any errors make sure to put all the template settings back to default before deleting.
Creating a template: If you don't know what action code is required
- If you're creating a new template and you don't know which action code is needed or if the template doesn't need a specific action code then 903 assure created template is always a good option.
