Once in DP letter templates there are 4 drops down boxes,
- Product (Public protection)
- Document Group (what group the template will be in e.g., licensing)
- Template type (always NCS Templates) DP templates are not editable from assure and need M3 access to be deleted, please raise a fresh service ticket if you require a DP template to be removed.
- Template name (this is different to what users see, so it will not always be the same name you see when you are creating the template from a worksheet)
Click template name of choice and then search to bring the correct template up and then details, this will then open the letter template details page where you can edit the recipient, the output method and the template description, you should only need to change anything on this page if requested, if not leave this section as is.
To open the actual template itself you need to scroll to the bottom of the page where you will see a 'Edit Template' button, click this. When you click edit template it will open the template in another tab, you need to make sure that your browser allows pop ups as this can sometimes affect the template opening.
Once in the template you can edit as needed, the merge field list provided has the merge field name and description this should help if you do not know what they mean. A tip is to use the search function on the merge field list in the template to find them quicker.
After all editing has been completed click save in the top left corner and wait for a message at the bottom of the screen saying all changes saved, then you click the cross in the left hand top corner and wait for a pop up which confirms the changes have been made. Finish by saving the template on the letter template details page and your template has been edited and now ready to test.
