Introduction
If you're experiencing issues with your Live Desktop environment, one of our helpdesk advisors may refer to the server or node that you are on. This quick guide will show you how to check this yourself. Knowing this information allows us to log onto it and check the node's CPU usage, who's logged onto the node and whether any applications have stopped on it to better diagnose the issue.
This information can be found prior to raising a ticket with ICT to ensure we can investigate your issue as quickly as possible.
Checking the Node / Server
- Right-click the Start Button at the bottom-right of the screen
- Click on System
This will bring up your system information and with it, your Computer Name. The Computer Name will be the name of the node you're currently working on and the piece of information we often need to diagnose problems with your sessions. In the example screenshot below, the node is "CBCAZGICTSH01". Yours will look slightly different and should be in the format "CBCAZGSHXX". The XX's represent two numbers, anywhere from 01-27.
TIP
You can do this on your PC/laptop at home to view its system information and get information such as the processor and RAM.
