You may want to setup your work station to use the laptop and another monitor.
Your Acer laptop will allow to connect the monitor via a HDMI or VGA (The blue one with the screws) adapter.
Once connected the other screen will likely display the same image as the laptop.
If you are happy with that, then that is ok.
If you want to Extend the display to use both screens fir different applications.
Then follow these additional instructions.
Click into the search bar at the bottom next to the Windows button and type Display into the field. Click on Duplicate or extend to a connected display as indicated.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and under the heading Multiple Displays click on the drop down menu and select Extend these displays.
This will allow you to use different applications across the 2 screens.
Once you are happy with that, close the display window.
