Introduction


If you're experiencing issues with a website or web-based application, clearing your browsing history may help. The following guidance should enable you to do this on all commonly used browsers.


Be aware that performing these actions may result in saved passwords and logins being cleared, meaning you need to ensure you have all required passwords to hand for logging back into various sites and services.



Google Chrome




   



  • Open the Google Chrome browser 
  • Click on the three-dot icon at the top right of the screen 
  • Hover over more tools
  • Click clear browsing data…


       


  • Click advanced
  • Tick all the boxes (may need to scroll down slightly)
  • Click clear data
  • Allow the browser to clear the history and await a notification 
  • Close the browser completely and re-open it


       






Microsoft Edge (New)




  • Open the new Edge
  • Click on the three-dot icon at the top right of the screen
  • Click on Settings
  • Click on Privacy, search, and services  
  • Scroll down to Clear browsing data
  • Click Choose what to clear


       


  • Ensure you have ticked the boxes for everything, selected All time and then click Clear now
  • Close the browser and re-open it



Internet Explorer





  • Open the IE browser 

  • Click on the cog symbol at the top right of the screen

  • Hover over safety

  • Click delete browsing history


       


  • Tick all the boxes

  • Click delete

  • Close the browser and re-open it
