Introduction
If you have recently used a dual-screen setup at work and the moved desk or gone to work from home using a single screen, you may notice that some programs appear to no longer open. If you check your taskbar along the bottom of the screen and the software you wanted to load is showing, the chances are it's sitting on the second screen you no longer have access to. Using the below guidelines, you can retrieve the open window(s) for the software on your main single monitor.
Solution
- On your keyboard, press Alt + Tab together until the program with the missing window is selected
- Press Alt + Space or Alt + Space + M
- Use the arrow keys on the keyboard (press and hold) to move the window until you can see it (normally by pressing and holding the left arrow)
- The missing window now should be visible again
